First of all thanks for posting and then reposting the files.

Secondly, and this might be confusing, the files you are posting may not be the ones missing.

Because I've been uploading the ram-format, to give sort of the history of those videos originally posted at the respective sites and on usenet. Your files are the rm-format, where technically the rms are an update of the rams. But the powers that once were, made the atrocious mistake of adding new files and giving some of the old ones new numbers. They obviously never thought that there would one day be topless beach historians

It was my intention to upload the rm files, once I was done with the rams, but at the moment I can't even find where I have them. I might have deleted them.

What I was definitely planning on uploading was the ones with v-prefix.

So what I am getting at is if you have more files in the rm format that differ and/or are of better quality, then I want to encourage you to post them. You and I are among the older crowd who were there when the files first appeared or later were posted on a variety of sites, but there's a new crowd out here who weren't even around then, and I can tell by the downloading figures are interested in those, ahem, artefacts. So we owe it to them to make the files available.

Here's what I found out. The .ram and .rm files might refer to the same type of file with just a slight difference regarding streaming capabilities. According to this website:

First, a RAM file is actually a text file that contains the address of the streaming media link, rather than a file that directly contains audio or video data. Secondly, a RAM file is usually small because it contains only link information and some metadata such as title, author, and so on."

Of course the files you are uploading are not just text because they have both video and audio, but my PC has no idea what the extension .ram means so I had to select the program each time to let it know how to use the file as videos to be played in Media Player.

Now, I tried to manually change the extension of these same files from .ram to .rm and magically, Windows recognizes them as videos providing even thumbnails in folder view. Check out these screenshots to see the difference.

Yeah...well. Rms was supposed to be an improvement on rams. And to some degree they were. But they left a trail of unresolved issues. It's not a format that lasted long, although they can still be found. Soon the iltb boss(es) moved on to another format, and again they changed the file numbers. Soon in this, ahem, presentation I'll move on to the next file format too, even though there will be duplicates and differences.

I have another 18 rams that are in the eb series, and another bunch that are in the vsb series, and to be honest I don't remember what that prefix stands for.
