Yep, completely agree. I do not like Instagram photo quality but I post these photos because other people like it.

Of course I miss these old good times of high resolution photos. I know that these HQ photos still exists but i do not know how to find it....

Keep in mind that, by definition, Instagram is intended as a place for sharing cell phone photos. People, at least here in the USA, have one device that does everything. They use their smartphone (usually an iPhone or Samsung Android) to talk, to text, to websurf, to take photos, to take videos, and to play music.

These devices do none of these things well, except perhaps the texting. They take grainy photos, and the battery life is too short to play much music. But you can do it all with one item, so there's no need to hall around your laptop, your phone, your MP3 player, and your digital camera.

Apparently, as far as I can tell, Czech girls still use cameras to take photos, instead of smartphones. This is why Rajce still has decent photo quality. Decent photos, taken with a camera, do show up on Twitter, and now on Facebook (used to be only lo-res), but those are the rarity. Facebook realized this, and bought Instagram.

I'm as bad as anyone, I use my Android smartphone to take crappy photos, instead of my film and digital cameras. Smartphone photo quality is improving all the time, in a few years, we'll be remembering how bad photos looked in 2012-2013, while enjoying better quality new pics. At least I hope so!

Instagram isn't low quality because the shots are taken on smartphones -- for reasons unknown, Instagram downsamples all photos to 612 x 612 regardless of the original pixel size.

But that's only the image resolution, it doesn't say anything about the camera quality and the resulting image quality. If the camera's crap, the picture will be blurry if you only move 1cm while you are taking the photo. Then you may have a nice 5MP photo, but it's still blurry .

Don't get me wrong! I love the Insta pics. I just hate the downsize and all retro filter crap people use there. I almost get tears in my eyes when I think about the Webshots days...

My iPhone with 8 megapixel sensors and f/2.4 aperture takes pretty decent high res pictures. Unless Im very drunk or its very dark the images come out better than the old 1024x768 pics back in the Webshots day. The issue today is that people find the retro crap filters cool and insist on using them and all the rest of the image destroying apps. The image downsizing doesn't help much either.

I suspect that most of the "Webshots quality pics" end up on Facebook these days. Thats the real problem for us pervs!

I would suspect that the majority of the old "great" webshots photos isn't "released" to the internetz this days because people are much more aware of us pervs and the irreversible nature of the net. Even in facebook these girl often have hundreds of friends, so i suspect much xxx-stuff even don't makes it to facebook.

Some real amateur bitches are around tumblr.
