You can look into installing ffmpeg and youtube-dl on the command line. If you're on Mac or Linux, you can first install Homebrew (https://brew.sh/) and then run on the command line:

brew install youtube-dl
brew install ffmpeg

If you're on Windows, you can follow https://danclowry.com/blog/youtube-dl-windows-install/



Once installed, you can run

ffmpeg $(youtube-dl -g 'https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0' | sed 's/^/-ss 01:00:00 -i /') -t 2:00 -c copy output.mp4

on the command line, where 01:00:00 is the start time, 2:00 is the duration of your intended clip, and output.mp4 is the name of the output file. Downloading should be very fast as it only downloads that section and not the entire video.
