I tend to agree. BYB has the odd good post, but most videos I've seen are simply boring, in part because they just show one person, not the surrounding ones.
Not that there isn't something to be said for that style, but I much prefer the style that was originally made by amateurs and published on usenet, which to some degree later morphed into softbeach and a number of others, then eurobeach, then ILTB, and possibly BS.
