No idea if these videos are from AirBnB or not but it's not implausible. I did plenty of traveling and was often on a low budget so several times I stayed in the same house as the AirBnB owner, was just using one of their bedrooms basically. And yes I used their bathroom (more often than not, there's just 1 bathroom) and yes it was perfectly fine for me to have a toiletries bag in there. So what you are considering a joke really isn't all that uncommon if you do a bit of traveling.
