Mud Bay Mud Race
 

Olympia's annual mud race is held before the graduation ceremony at The Evergreen State College. Usually that means the morning of graduation day. So the contestants duct-tape their shoes onto their ankles, and make their choices about what other clothing to wear (or not wear). Then they slog across the bay to a flag on the far side and back again. For glory, but minimal reward.
