Anyway, a tip I have (0 times caught) is to get one of those medium sized black backs from the liqour store. Make sure you also have a department type store shopping bag to throw the black back inside so no one is suspicious from the get go.
Prepare your phone/camera inside the bag where you know the lens will barely appear and make a hole in the bag.
Next, get tape, I like to use that black gorilla tape and apply it in a way that has sticky tape on both sides inside the bag on each side of the hole.
Now your camera/phone surface is slipper so that wont stick long enough, so you'll want to just put a thin strip of the same tape on each side of your camera lens so that the tape inside the bag holes it perfectly in place for the lens to not miss anything in the hole.

I also use a pocket size mirror, those small round or square ones and place it inside the black bag.

Next, choose your department store that allows both genders inside or if you're good, sneak into a womens one* (I'll get back to that one later)

It has to be a fitting room where the stalls are opened on the floor between each fitting room.
Another important key part - If you're going to record close to the door, make sure you hang a shirt or something long enough to cover or someone might see a black bag suspiciously moving around.
you'll have the reflection of the video live recording in your bag so you can see and zoom everything you wish.

Now the way I've snuck into womens only fitting rooms is they usually always have a couch or chair right outside for the "Husbands/boyfriends" to wait. I sit there and watch until absolutely no one is coming in or watching and enter. If you do enter and someone is coming out, you can easily just say a female name like you're looking for your gf/wife and just go back and sit down. No one cares, 100% everyone is too busy with their own business that unless you're a suspicious creeper then you wont get caught.
Dress like you're an employee too, not uniform but just be showered and dressed up. They don't suspect anything from a person well groomed.

There is a lot more detail I can go into but I'll leave it at that for now.
