youtube-dl is not my first choice, I have it on my computer and use it sometimes. For you tubes I normally try 4K Video Downloader first - and for those it nearly always works.

I actually use jdownloader for all my downloading needs. It does take a (little) while to set up properly, but then it can do almost anything (except make coffee, maybe). And you can easily automate a lot of tasks.

Pretty sure 4k Video Downloader is a gui wrapper for youtube-dl. It's closed source so I don't know for sure.
